Nextora Theme Blocks: 37 Free Gutenberg Blocks Included

A block theme is only as useful as the blocks it ships with. Nextora, the WordPress block theme from BePlus, bundles 37 free Gutenberg blocks — enough to build most of a site without a separate block library.

That count reflects the develop branch, where the collection has grown well past the 18 blocks in the current v0.0.14 release. Nineteen more are on the way, including a chart block, a table of contents, an events list, and an expanding-card gallery. Here’s the full lineup, grouped so you can see what’s worth reaching for.

Where the Blocks Live

All of the Nextora theme blocks live inside the theme, under the blocks/ folder in the GitHub repository. They’re first-party blocks, not wrappers around a third-party library, so they inherit the theme’s design tokens and typography. You add them from the block inserter like any core block, and their options sit in the block sidebar.

There’s no separate plugin to update and no paid tier. The theme is open source, which means every block below is free.

The 37 blocks fall into a handful of groups. Blocks marked as new are on the develop branch and land in a future release.

A Few Worth Calling Out

Every block has a use, but a handful stand out for how much work they remove.

Table of Contents is the one I’d reach for most often. It’s auto-generated from your headings, with scroll-spy and smooth scrolling, so long posts get usable navigation without a plugin or manual anchor links.

Related Posts is also worth noting because it’s server-side rendered. That means it resolves the correct posts from the current page’s categories or tags, which client-side post blocks sometimes get wrong on cached or archive pages.

For pure visual impact, Hero Paper Roll is the most distinctive of the new batch. A full-screen hero with an infinite 3D paper-roll background is the kind of thing you’d normally need a custom build for.

Finally, the Contact form block removes a plugin for simple sites. It emails the admin and confirms to the visitor, which covers a lot of small-business needs on its own.

Getting the New Blocks

The 18 released blocks are in Nextora v0.0.14 today. The other 19 sit on the develop branch, so you can either wait for the next release or build from source to try them early. Clone the repo at github.com/miketropi/nextora, switch to the develop branch, and run the theme build. The full list lives in the blocks/ directory. If you’re new to the theme, the FAQs page covers common setup questions.

Verdict

On Nextora, these blocks quietly replace a stack of plugins: forms, charts, galleries, testimonials, related posts. The trade-off is lock-in. Blocks that ship with the theme don’t follow you if you switch themes later. For a block-first build on Nextora, that’s a fair price for a cohesive, free library.
